Come and Knock on my Door...

Ok...just kidding. I literally get the hives anytime someone knocks or rings the doorbell. eeeeek!

After being inspired by something very similar on one of my new favorite blogs, Crafty Texas Girls, I decided I HAD to make my own version. I'm sorta in love. I love that its different and not a typical wreath. Simply took an old picture frame that the glass had been broken out of and wrapped it in burlap. Then, I took a leopard-ish fabric and wrapped on top of that. Finished her off with some fun wrapped roses on the bottom with a little extra fluffs of burlap! We have a covered porch and our door area rarely gets wet allowing me to use so much fabric on our front door d├ęcor. (prob. not the most “spring/summer looking but it matches my house and thats what matters most to me!)
Besides the fact that I love the way this turned out, I love that it cost me NO MONEY. I had all these scraps laying around the house! Cant beat that!

Next up is painting over that terrible brassy gold door handle with an oil rubbed bronze color. Lastly, I just need to convince the hubs that I need to paint our house number on the door.   Can I PLEEEEAAASSSEEEE TURKEY!?!?!?!??!

  2. Girl firend I think it is time for me to hand off all my scrap fabrics. Make room in my sewing room and give you plenty to think about and stay busy. Challenge to you: Take my old Christmas decorations (by that I mean a lot of it) and give them a new look be it ribbons, modern fun paint colors(hee hee everyone knows you love to paint)fresh flowers, heck even sparkle, and you know how much I loathe sparkle. Then decorate EVERY room in your house. Janae would love helping as well as decorating! Seems like the perfect thing to be doing in August/September when the temp and humidity is like 120

    1. omgoodness...I cant even think about xmas right now! I have to have this baby first! lol! Now the scraps of fabric on the other hand sound fun. :-) I have a feeling that crafting time will be taking a bit hit once Rooster Dude arrives.
