A Life Break in San Jose del Cabo

I spent the majority of the last week on vacation, away from being a Mama, away from texting, away from (most) emails, away from blogging. I was a wife and friend only. It was refreshing to say the least. Lets face it…we all need time to recharge. I came back anxious to see my kids and be mom again. Ready to write for my blog, plan for Easter and so much more….Thats a refreshing feeling compared the "I'm sick of this kid teething" mom I was before I left and "I never want to host another thing again"  girl I was before. Inhale…Exhale… Mexico was just the break I needed.

OH! Did I mention we traveled with our best friends??? Seriously! We all grew up together. My best friend married Tom's best friend! How crazy is that??
Sunset walk on the beach!

Our waiter just kept bringing drinks….I mean what are you supposed to do in that situation? ;-)
On our walk to the down town market. I found a fab gold hammered bracelet, some toys for the kids, the boys got their cuban cigars, and Nat got her daughter the most adorable dress to ever be created in all the world.
Corona +  Pico de gallo…Nuff said.

The "taco experiment" was really focused on Natalie (we ate at this place the day before and she didn't order a taco..but the rest of us did. We couldn't stop talking about the tacos so naturally she demanded we go back so she could try!) …but I would never do this to her…so Tom eating his tacos was my natural substitute. He can't say no to me posting this. Love you T-Sauce.
If you have ever had REAL mexican tacos then you know why all these photos are in here. This American shit we call "tacos" is NOTHING compared to the real deal. So when we found the worlds best taco place with dollar beers….you KNOW we hit them up two days in a freakin row!!! I stuck with my traditional beef taco but everyone else tried their taste buds at the chicken and shrimp as well. Shrimp for the win for Adam and Natalie and Tom voted beef. I mean DANG…I can't even explain how good they are. Seriously…just go ahead and book yourself a trip to San Jose del Cabo and walked to the downtown area and eat at "The Corner"…its to die for. No joke.

This was a sunrise breakfast shot. We saw whales that morning from our table…Jumping and blowing water. It was amazing!
I leave you with the typical (for these two) bromance shot. These boys…They go way back (just like me and Nat-cakes) We are talking early teens. In fact… Adam was my first boyfriend. HA! We got married in grade school to each other…so him and I go the furthest. But back to my point... These two are two peas in a pod. They always manage to get themselves in a "bromance" photo worthy position and we ALWAYS take advantage. I mean seriously…I could do a whole blog post on their bromance photos. But all jokes aside…it is truly amazing to have our joint histories and friendships all together. It's unbeatable. We don't live near each other so we try to vacation nearly every year together to get some uninterrupted much needed quality time!

It was a fantastic break. But I'm happy to be back. That beach & resort sure was gorgeous but nothing will ever beat this view:
Wishing you all the BEST weekend!!!! And, don't dread this Monday... Myself, Amber & Kelly are hosting our Spring Favorites Giveaway!!!!!

Until then…ADIOS!

  1. So much fun! I think it is great that y'all were able to get away for a little grownup time, I agree that it is necessary. I always wonder about the couples who don't take time for themselves - what happens when their kids leave and go off to college. Do they look at each other and are like, "I have no idea who you are."

The pics are great and I love your aqua maxi skirt. :D Happy weekend!

    1. I don't know how marriages survive without time away honestly. It's super important to us. We don't go on but one to two dates a month so a yearly trip is a BIG deal for us…AND our kids!!! I really think its healthy for the kids to have time away too!

  2. Sounds like it was just what you needed and just long enough to be ready to come back in full swing! That is so awesome you guys have been best friends for so long, even after your "grade school divorce" ;) and I'm a bit jealous of the authentic Mexican food. We went out to La Hacienda for my birthday lunch because I was craving chips n salsa hard core...and their grill and deep fryer were down. What the eff? Now that I think of it, my chimichanga must've been microwaved or something. Not cool, La Havienda, not cool! When our waitress said "you come back I give you 50%"...uhhhh, how about on this bill?! Oh well, I didn't want it to ruin my happiness from it being my birthday and the first day of spring...so I made sure to get my free Qdoba birthday burrito later! Ha!
