Patio Progress

Project Patio has happened…for the most part. We do still have garden planting to do this Sunday yet, plus a few small planters etc to go on tables…and, I decided not to paint the black table as of now. (remember from this post, I originally thought I might paint it green) I'm not feeling it. But I could always change my mind with a moments notice.

Anywhoooo, here is what we have checked off the list is:

1. Added two giant outdoor rugs. (best decision of my patio decorating life.)
2. New wicker patio furniture. In LOVE! I've always dreamt of wicker out there. I would still love a sofa set in place of our other sitting area…but one large purchase at a time, right? ;-)
3. New bright and happy green outdoor pillows in addition to the ones that came with our new table/chair set.
4. All new terra-cotta planters and wooden planter boxes. I asked for all new pots/planters for Mother's Day this year. I would love to add more but they do cost a pretty penny…maybe later in the season!!
5. Surprise addition!!! A hammock! I have wanted one for a few years now and my amazingly thoughtful husband surprised me with one a few weeks back! He found them on sale at Garden Ridge and couldn't pass up the deal! Seriously, Tom. You win. xoxo
6. 87 bags of pine chips were laid around the entire house.

I'm still on a quest to make a more organized kiddie area at the far end of the patio. But, lets be honest. Why do I even try??  Kids like to "re-organize" their things in their own liking way anyway. Like making cakes of sand on top of every surface or piles of mulch that are "lunch"… or like how all the actual flowers are picked off my plants and if you look closely there are pieces of mulch in the pots sticking up because the pots needed "candles"…you know. Just your regular patio decor. As much as it can be maddening to me, I have to admit…there will be a day that I will be sad not to see these cute little ideas all over the place. I will miss this "mess," believe it or not.  Anyway, I do have a few more details I'd like to add and hopefully will share with a garden post at some point. But, until then…

  4. Don't be alarmed if you come home and I'm napping in the hammock, all summer. I'll bring wine. The patio looks great. I LOVE the idea of a rug outside. Is it from Garden Ridge?

    1. The rugs are from Target! They really are such a huge impact and add a whole new level of comfort on top of that concrete!!! I highly recommend a outdoor rug purchase to anyone wanting to dress up their patio!
